In the land of the "spaghetti western", the Maremma region on the southern coast of Tuscany produces some great wines and a lot of great values. A blend of Morellino (local clone of Sangiovese) and a touch of Syrah, the 2007 vintage produced a bright and aromatic red wine with medium body, refreshing acidity and lots of bright red cherry fruit and a hint of black pepper spice from the Syarh.
